Florida Sees Growth In Medical Marijuana Industry

The industry of medical marijuana in Florida has seen continuous growth with more dispensaries of medical marijuana opening to doors for treating people that are qualified. The popularity of the medical cannabis business has seen the dramatic increase. In the last week before this New Year, there were three more treatment centers of marijuana in Florida which have been approved for dispensing the drug that is plant based.

Out of the centers, Trulieve has the most locations which are dispensing, as per the latest reports from the Health Office of Florida. The patients who are eligible for receiving cannabis are continuously expanding as they reach 298,659 as per the report. The physicians who have already completed the training and obtained the licenses for ordering medical marijuana have seen their number increase to 2,619. The patients are required to get a diagnosis by a doctor for getting the medical marijuana.

The new locations for dispensing has been approved in the 16-20 week include the Trulive in Orange Park, Liberty Health Sciences at Brandon and GrowHealthy which is in Stuart. The state overall has over 200 locations as per the data of the health department. The health department of state has listed the qualifying conditions for use of marijuana as cancer, glaucoma, epilepsy, cancer and HIV/AIDS among others.

The department of health in Florida has created the office of Medical Marijuana which is going to oversee the licensing process for the businesses of Florida for cultivation of medical cannabis. This department has offered information and the resources for the medical marijuana Florida program. In order to qualify for the medical marijuana, the patient should be a resident of Florida and be diagnosed with the qualified condition.
